Property Solicitor – Strategic Property Management

Location: Athlone | Full-time | Public Sector | Permanent

Looking for more than billable hours? Ready to put your legal expertise to work on high-value commercial property deals that directly impact national infrastructure and economic growth?

We are partnering with a key government-sponsored organisation with a strategic national mission to attract inward investment and develop property assets across Ireland. They are now seeking a Property Solicitor with strong conveyancing experience and a flair for managing complex transactions to join their Legal, Conveyancing & Procurement Team.

This is not your typical in-house role. You’ll be at the centre of a highly strategic property portfolio, managing a wide caseload from acquisition to disposal, leases to licences, and providing legal guidance on everything from title issues to procurement, FOI queries and legislative changes. It’s a blend of public service and private sector pace, minus the late-night deal room.

What you'll be doing:

  • Running end-to-end commercial property transactions (acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences).
  • Advising internal teams on property law, deal structure, and compliance with public codes of practice.
  • Managing external legal panel relationships to ensure top-tier service delivery.
  • Supporting broader legal queries across property litigation, insurance claims, VAT, procurement, and governance.
  • Staying ahead of legal developments and applying them practically to a fast-moving property strategy.

What you'll bring:

  • You’re a qualified solicitor with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally with commercial conveyancing exposure.
  • You’re organised, self-sufficient, and can juggle competing priorities without losing sight of the detail.
  • You’re confident managing stakeholder expectations and enjoy translating complex legal matters into clear commercial advice.
  • You’ve got a full driving licence and are open to occasional travel for site visits or legal negotiations.

Why this role?

  • Work with purpose – every property deal helps unlock future economic opportunities across Ireland.
  • Enjoy true work/life balance with public sector stability, generous leave, and defined career progression.
  • Be part of a collaborative legal team respected for its commercial acumen and legal rigour.
